A Toast to Community: Picking a New. Vintage from Red Gate Winery

Life at Margaret River Lifestyle Village is all about enjoying the little moments — and this week, we raised our glasses to one of those very moments with a very local twist.

Just down the road from our village, nestled among the vines and gum trees, lies the beautiful Red Gate Winery. We recently took a trip there to help select a new vintage of white wine, and what a day it was. From strolling through the vineyard to sipping on some of the region’s finest drops, the experience was a wonderful reminder of how lucky we are to live in the heart of wine country.

A Local Drop with a Personal Touch

There’s something special about getting to know the story behind the wine — the soil, the seasons, the people. That’s exactly what we love about Red Gate. Not only is it family-owned and full of heart, but it’s also just a short drive from the village, making it the perfect spot for a casual visit… or a special selection.

On this particular visit, we were there with purpose — to pick a fresh vintage of white wine to be stocked in the village. After sampling a selection of whites (no complaints there), we landed on a crisp, vibrant drop that we think our residents will love. Whether it’s enjoyed with a cheese platter, over a shared meal, or simply during a relaxing afternoon on the deck, this wine will no doubt become a new village favourite.

Wine, Conversation, and a Whole Lot of Smiles

Of course, the wine was only part of what made the day so enjoyable. The outing was filled with laughter, good company, and the kind of conversations that only seem to flow when you’re surrounded by beautiful scenery and a few tasting glasses.

It was also a lovely reminder of the lifestyle we enjoy here — spontaneous adventures, shared experiences, and plenty of opportunity to explore what our local region has to offer. From wine to waves to wildflowers, we really are spoiled for choice in Margaret River.

Back at the village, we’ve now got a few bottles of our chosen vintage ready for residents to enjoy — whether at one of our community gatherings, over dinner with friends, or perhaps even on a quiet evening under the stars.
